For our final project we decided to include a list of top celebrities and then finnd out the connections between them to produce a pretty little network graphic. This was the final result.

This network includes all of the relationships between our top celebrities and other celebrities through a variety of interactions.

After running our 3,307 entry long .CSV file through Gephi, we concluded that the most central celebrity at this moment in time is Angela Basset. Angela Bassett has a higher eigenvector centrality meaning she has a higher influence on other nodes in the network. She has the most connections to other high-influence nodes in the network, meaning she may not have the most connections, but the most connections to the most important people in the network. Angela Bassett stars in Black Panther and other films in the Marvel franchise, as Ramonda, mom to titular Black Panther. This gains her connections to every actor and actress in the MCU franchise, a modularity in and of itself. Being a part of the American Horror Story cast, she connects with major nodes of actors as well as Lady Gaga, who has a high betweenness centrality.Lady Gaga has the highest betweenness centrality in the network This may be due to the fact that she connects with nodes in many different modularity’s. She has starred in films, tv shows, and is a musician, giving her access to three major modularity’s directly. She is connected to Bradley Cooper through A Star is Born which is another high-profile node. She is also connected to numerous American Horror Story actors and actresses, which gains her multiple connections in the television modularity. Collaborating with other musicians also gives her multiple connections in the musician modularity.Our data set included actors/actresses, atheletes, musicians, youtubers, tiktokers, and there immediate connections. After producig our network and running the diferent network analysis statistics, we concluded that the most central celebrity at this moment in time is Angela Basset. Who knew.
